Sleezy if you like that Well at the first glance it is a wonderfull street specially for people who has come to Bangkok for the first time. Pretty girls, dance, wonderful time and so on. You can find anything what you want but consider that you are just a customer in there and not more. It's just a street hammered with girly bars. If you are a normal newbie tourist to Bangkok, by all means go and have a wander around for a while, but be VERY careful indeed.
Drinks are stupidly expensive, may well be spiked, and for a few years now, the police have forbidden pharmacies in the Sukhumvit area to sell sleeping tablets because bars and bar-girls were using them to spike drinks, take someone to a hotel and rob them and disappear when they were in a deep sleep. If you are a sex tourist, you know what you are in for, and if you get stung, 'som nam na' as they say here - it's your own stupid fault. There's a fair chance of contracting HIV or something else and many of the girls look under-age.
I'm no prude, but it's a dirty little street, populated by some very pretty girls, but you'll be hustled and hassled.
Keep your wits about you We were staying more or less over the road but i certainly would not travel very far to see this very modest little red light street A few good paces and you have done the whole street! Sure if you want to go in a sex bar then they must do the job but not worth it as a tourist attraction.
I go to Cowboy every day. Great burger place next to Baccara. I usually spend at least 5 hrs a night going from bar to bar searching for that special person who luckily I found in Cockatoo opposite Baccara. She is 26, very tall, taller than me at 5ft 11" and has an amazing husky voice. We plan to get married once she has divorced her 4th husband.
