Good -Our bathroom was not working right from day one! We had to wait three days for new room. They didn't care at all and didn't want to change our room. How do you book a room with a toilet that doesn't flush and floods? Oh well, the toilet worked! After having spoken to the manager, he assured us in half hour we were going to get a new room.
When we went back, he asked "May I help you? Nothing was done until we met " Johnny be Good" who changed our room for us finally. We had spoken to many, many people before Johnny. You have to go to Bavaro area for that. I have travelled everywhere and am not a complainer, however this resort was very frustrating. They do They do not have their act together. If they did, it would be a good place.
Beach, food , rooms and service are not good. There are better resorts. Bavaro area is the best area for the beaches. Choose a hotel there. We enjoyed our holiday which could not have come at a better time with the snow!!! Check in was straight forward. Stayed in Block I on the Tropical side. The room was large, quiet and very clean. The food was ok. Both my partner and me agreed that the food was often cold because the plates were.
Went to the Mexican and Italian which were ok. It rained quite a bit but this did not spoil our fun. Spent more time around the pool than the beach which was pleasant. Did not go on any trips this time have been on previous visit to the DR. The only major negative part of the holiday was the Time Share people. There are loads of them all around the complex and they are relentless.
There was definitely more of them towards the end of our fortnight. Even a firm "no thankyou" did not mean you were off the hook. They are not rude its just that you would like to feel free to walk about without being stopped by one of them. This was off putting and I would have to seriously consider this factor if I am to return.
