An interesting part of Hai Phong. Cool scenery. Good food is available. Can buy mud crabs off the A quick 30 minutes getaway from the city for a stress free relaxing time.
If you are Here is very famous for prostitutes. The japanese friends said: "do son - hai phong" is more than kabukicho red light street in japan. I tried it here and it was really bustling at night and during the day. The beach is nothing special. The couple who come here to travel must watch over the husband offline. If you are a foreigner tourists or even a South Vietnamese tourists, they're gonna sell you things with triple the price.
Boring beach, with not really nice view. Stay and eat in your hotel there. Or drive to Haiphong or get a bus to be cheap to eat. Do Son Beach is not something so strange to me. In fact, it's been a very close place in my mind. However, for long it hasn't been changed anything in comparison to itself a couple of decades ago. As I said, it hasn't been changed much for long so you can see somewhere there a view that nearly looks so wild and you can even take some photos to share with friends and tag "A very wild beach I've got to selfie"!
Although, you can have my sharing point which I had my recent experience that sounds not so bad at a hotel and the neighbouring rest with the same name HOA PHUONG located in the 2nd zone.
Hope that it can help you to some extent. The beach is a little bit dirty but cheaper than others nearby anyway. If you don't have much money, it it definitely not a bad option for you when coming to Hai Phong.
